There was quite a bit of news coming out of Green Bay on Thursday, as the team announced their financial numbers to the public. In addition, team President and CEO Mark Murphy addressed a number of topics with the media in a press conference.

Among the topics addressed were the two key contributors to the drama of the 2008 offseason. The one who's still with the team is expected to stay for a while, but the other one won't be honored for a little bit yet.

Also, let's all hope for a new birch tree to be planted by this time next year. You'll see what I mean shortly.

While Mark Murphy spoke to reporters about the Packers' financial numbers, he also addressed Favre's jersey retirement and said that it will have to wait at least another year.

Murphy also addressed the discussions with the team's GM, saying that "It's a top priority" and that Thompson shows no signs of retiring soon.
