Packers Roster Cut Deadline: Tracking the 2014 Cuts to Reach 53

Following Thursday's final preseason game, the Green Bay Packers held 75 players on the active roster. By 3 PM Central on Saturday, they'll be at 53. We'll keep you updated as best we can with all the roster moves.

Ted Thompson hates the final cut-down after the preseason. As a bubble player for much of his pro football career, he can sympathize with the young players whom he has to release better than many other General Managers around the NFL. However, sympathy is not a valued commodity in the league, and the deadline to reach a 53-man active roster is approaching quickly.

We have good guesses at a number of the names who will end up on the waiver wire over the next several hours, but there will undoubtedly be some surprises in the mix as well. While we await the final list, hop over to our final 53-man roster projection to see which players we expect the Packers to carry as they travel to Seattle next Thursday night.
