Packers-Bears Inactives: Jeff Janis Active as Jarrett Boykin Sits

New, comments

Packers rookie wide receiver Jeff Janis is active for the first time for today's game in Chicago, and the Bears will be missing one of their top pass-rushers.

The Green Bay Packers are swapping out a veteran wide receiver for a seventh-round rookie for today's game against the Chicago Bears. Third-year wideout Jarrett Boykin is inactive today, thanks to a groin injury he suffered during practice on Thursday. That paves the way for rookie Jeff Janis to make his first game action, as he is the team's fourth active wide receiver today behind Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and fellow rookie Davante Adams.

Adams, of course, moves into the #3 wide receiver role that he had been splitting with Boykin.

Also of note on the Packers' inactive list today is inside linebacker Brad Jones, who will miss his third straight game with a quad injury and will be replaced by Jamari Lattimore in the staring lineup once again. Clay Matthews, on the other hand, is active as expected and will be playing today.

For the Bears, they will be missing five starters, including defensive end Jared Allen, who is out with an illness. Also joining him are four players who were listed as Out on Friday's injury report.
