Being Aaron Rodgers' quarterbacks coach in Green Bay has been a stepping-stone to getting a job as an NFL Offensive Coordinator in recent years. Rodgers' last two QB coaches, Tom Clements and Ben McAdoo, are now coordinators for the Packers and New York Giants, respectively.
Now it appears that Rodgers' current position coach is being considered for a coordinator job of his own:
The #Rams also sent in a request to speak with #Packers QB coach Alex Van Pelt for their OC opening, source said.

Since the Rams had to request the interview, that probably means that Van Pelt is still under contract with the Packers for at least 2015 and if that is indeed the case, the Packers can deny the request if they so choose.
Remember that last year, the Giants did not need permission to interview McAdoo because his contract had expired.
We'll likely find out in short order whether the Packers will allow the interview.
Van Pelt has spent three seasons with the Packers, the first two as running backs coach and 2014 as quarterbacks coach. He did spend one season as Offensive Coordinator for the Buffalo Bils, in 2008.
