2015 NFL Draft Order: Packers End Up with 30th Pick

The Packers' draft position is now locked in following Sunday's loss.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

With the Green Bay Packers' loss in the NFC Championship Game, their season is obviously over. One other item that has been decided as a result of Sunday's game is the Packers' draft slot for the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Packers will hold the 30th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, and will maintain that slot throughout each round of the draft.

The teams who miss the playoffs make up the first 20 picks, in order from worst record to best. The playoff losers are then slotted in the next few groups, taking into account the round in the playoffs that they lost as well as their regular season records.

Though the Packers currently hold a single draft pick in each of the draft's seven rounds, they should end up adding a pair of compensatory picks as well. According to Overthecap.com's projections, the Packers are likely to add a pair of 6th-round picks as a result of losing two specific unrestricted free agents during the 2014 offseason: wide receiver James Jones (who signed with the Oakland Raiders) and center Evan Dietrich-Smith (Buccaneers). Defensive end C.J. Wilson (Raiders) and offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse (Bengals) also departed in free agency, but are currently projected to miss the league's cutoff for compensatory pick awards.

For now, though, we know of seven picks that the Packers hold:

Packers Draft Picks

Round Pick (in round) Overall*
1 30 30
2 30 62
3 30 94
4 30 126*
5 30 158*
6 30 190*
7 30 222*

*Note: compensatory picks have not been announced. This will alter the overall slots of picks in the fourth through seventh rounds.

We also have all but two slots in the first round of the 2015 Draft decided, and those two spots will be decided in two weeks with the winners of Super Bowl XLIX taking the 32nd spot and the losers drafting 31st.
