Mike McCarthy Confirms Aaron Rodgers will Practice Thursday

Surprising news? No, but it's still good news.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The first bit of news from Green Bay today falls squarely into the "not shocking whatsoever" category, but is also in the "reassuring" one.

Relax once again, Packers fans. Aaron Rodgers will practice in at least a limited fashion today (Thursday) as the Packers continue their preparations for their game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed to Sirius/XM's Bruce Murray and Rich Gannon that Rodgers' recovery is going according to plan and that he'll be on the field today:

Most likely this means that we'll see him listed as "Limited" on the official injury report this afternoon. Still, it should be somewhat of a relief that he is taking the field today and meeting the timeline that McCarthy and others planned out for him following the Packers' Week 17 victory over the Lions. Of course, the team is likely to keep quiet just how much Rodgers has improved to keep the Cowboys off-balance, so don't expect too much information on just how effective and mobile he can be until the Packers' offense takes the field on Sunday.

Stay tuned for the full injury report this afternoon when it is announced.
