The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers released their injury reports on Friday about 48 hours prior to kickoff between the two teams on Sunday afternoon.
Though the two reports are similar in length, the severity level of the Packers' injuries is certainly higher, with one starter out and two more questionable, plus a pair of special teams contributors doubtful for Sunday. The 49ers have ten players listed total, but only one is listed as anything other than Probable.
Here's a look at the injuries for both teams.
Packers
Out
OT Bryan Bulaga (knee)
Doubtful
CB Demetri Goodson (hamstring)
ILB Jake Ryan (hamstring)
Questionable
WR Davante Adams (ankle)
S Morgan Burnett (calf)
Probable
WR Randall Cobb (shoulder)
DE Datone Jones (head)
RB Eddie Lacy (ankle)
OLB Mike Neal (groin)
S Sean Richardson (ankle)
FB Aaron Ripkowski (shoulder)
The Packers flew to California on Friday and will practice on Saturday as is the custom under Mike McCarthy over the past two seasons. Therefore, Burnett, Adams, Goodson, and Ryan are likely to see their actual game status be highly dependent on what (if anything) they are able to do on Saturday. Since none of those players have practiced at all this week, it seems unlikely to count on any of them to suit up.
Thankfully, the long list of key players on the Probable list are expected to play, with Randall Cobb's shoulder not limiting him noticeably this year and Lacy working fully all week in practice.
Here's the Niners' report:
49ers
Doubtful
TE Vernon Davis (knee)
Probable
CB Kenneth Acker (back)
G Alex Boone (shoulder)
ILB Navorro Bowman (not injury related)
OLB Ahmad Brooks (shoulder)
RB Reggie Bush (calf)
WR Bruce Ellington (ankle)
S L.J. McCray (hip)
TE Vance McDonald (knee)
S Eric Reid (hip)
The big name here is of course Vernon Davis, who injured his knee last Sunday against the Cardinals. He tried to practice on Friday, but according to Niners Nation, he dropped out of practice before team drills began. As such, he seems unlikely to play on Sunday.
The rest of the players on the Probable list, which include four starters and Davis' likely replacement, are all expected to play.
Stay tuned for more on these players' statuses, as the Packers may update the injury report following Saturday's practice.
