The Green Bay Packers get to enjoy week seven as spectators on their bye week as they get healthy (or at least healthier) and resume their season in Denver a week from Sunday. In the meantime, we're left with looking back at the first six games of the season and looking ahead to the team's long-term needs instead of having any real football news to discuss.

Among the topics in today's curds are the hiring of Mike Holmgren, Jermichael Finley's injury, and a look ahead to the 2016 Draft and the team's biggest need.

Packers' top draft need in 2016: outside LB |

Michigan State's Shilique Calhoun and Auburn's Carl Lawson could be intriguing possibilities near the end of the first round.

Ex-Packers TE Jermichael Finley on retiring: 'Game is getting violent' - ESPN
There's apparently a very good reason that the Packers' doctors didn't clear Finley after his neck injury - his vertebrae weren't fused properly and the bruise on his spinal cord is still present.

Bears release DL Jeremiah Ratliff after reported argument with GM Ryan Pace -
Oops. Ratliff had to be escorted out of the Bears' facility by police. This is the second time he has been released under, shall we say, turbulent circumstances.
