Packers power rankings, Week 8: Green Bay remains at No. 3

No progress for Green Bay during their bye week.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

With so many undefeated teams taking Week 7 off, there wasn't any reason to expect a dramatic shakeup at the top of SB Nation's weekly NFL power rankings. As such, the Green Bay Packers remain in the No. 3 spot they occupied a week ago, behind the reigning champion New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Packers have a good chance to move significantly in the power rankings this week, however. They travel to Denver to take on the 6-0 Broncos, a team currently ranked fifth. Should Green Bay emerge victorious, that would likely push them to the No. 2 slot at a minimum, and perhaps all the way to the top spot. At the same time, a loss could push them behind the Broncos and perhaps out of the top five depending on how the rest of the league schedule unfolds.

Other power rankings see the Packers in a similar light. CBS Sports also has them ranked third, just one spot ahead of the Broncos. Meanwhile, both ESPN and Yahoo! Sports have Green Bay at No. 2, behind only New England.
