Packers fans won't likely be eating chicken parm any time soon after the beating that the Denver Broncos (and corporate spokesman extraordinaire Peyton Manning) put on them on Sunday Night.
But on Monday morning, Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips decided to try a little trash talk on Twitter with this quip:
Chicken Parm tastes so good-I like it especially with Cheese
— Wade Phillips (@sonofbum) November 2, 2015
Okay, the Broncos defense played great last night as the Packers' offense was rendered virtually useless. However, there's a problem with this tweet. "Especially" with cheese, Bum? That implies that not having cheese on that item is even an option.
Now, in case you're not familiar with italian cuisine, here's a description of the dish from Wikipedia:
Chicken parmigiana, or chicken parmesan is a popular Italian-American dish. It consists of a breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella, or provolone.
In other words, Wade, chicken parm always has cheese on it. So not only did you mess up the cadence of the well-known line from the Nationwide Insurance commercials - after all, any American who has watched a football game in the last two years knows it's "Chicken parm, you taste so good" - you failed in your attempt to make a joke at the expense of America's Dairyland.
Note: Yes, I recognize that even addressing this is ridiculous, but it's a coping mechanism. We all have our own ways of dealing with losses.
