Packers injury report: Julius Peppers gets Monday off

The veteran defender missed the first practice of his Packers career.

One of the few consistencies for the Green Bay Packers over the past two seasons has been Julius Peppers' availability. The outside linebacker has never missed a game or a practice since arriving in Green Bay. That changed Monday, as the team revealed he did not participate for non-injury related reasons.

While the nature of Peppers' absence was not revealed, there does not appear to be any reason to suspect he misses Thursday's NFC North tilt with the Detroit Lions. The same cannot be said for rookie wide receiver Ty Montgomery, who sat out Monday's practice. Montgomery has not played since suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 against the San Diego Chargers. Though he began practicing few weeks ago, Montgomery subsequently suffered a setback.

Meanwhile, starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga did not practice Monday while recuperating from an ankle injury of his own. If Bulaga cannot suit up Thursday, backup Don Barclay expects to receive the call. The rest of the starting offensive line participated in some capacity on Monday.

Here's the full injury report for Monday:
