The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys find themselves in opposite positions from the situation that they faced two years ago when the two legendary franchises last played in the regular season. That year, they met in week 15 in Dallas, with the Packers missing their starting quarterback due to a collarbone injury and effectively facing playoff elimination with a loss.
This year, Dallas is the visiting team, they have a QB on the shelf with a broken clavicle in Tony Romo, and though they're just 4-8, they're still just a game out of their division lead. It's a little amusing, actually.
Packers fans are hoping that the visiting underdog doesn't win this week as they did in 2013, however. In that game, Matt Flynn helped led the Packers to a comeback victory, and Matt Cassel will hope to do the same on Sunday.
We at Acme Packing Company are not expecting that kind of history to repeat itself, however. We're unanimous in picking the 8-4 Packers to come out victorious over the 4-8 Cowboys on Sunday, instead following the script written in last year's Divisional Round playoff game at Lambeau Field.
Week 14 Picks
Here are the rest of our picks, which currently hold six unanimous selections for the week 14 games. We also are all in agreement that the Cardinals will beat the Vikings on Thursday Night Football this evening, and that combined with a Packers win would give Green Bay a full-game lead on the division with three games (including a head-to-head matchup in week 17) yet to play. A Seattle win over Baltimore and a Minnesota loss would also put the Seahawks in the driver's seat for the 5th seed in the playoffs over the Vikings.
Here are our picks for this week.
