The Green Bay Packers will need every one of the off days they have coming up in the next week, as they will have ten days before their next game in Dallas.
The reason that the mini-bye will be a big help is that Green Bay will be missing several key players in tonight's game against the Detroit Lions. Two starting offensive linemen are out, along with a starting rookie cornerback who just won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month honors.
But before we worry about that layoff, we have to concern ourselves with the game taking place tonight. At Ford Field, the Packers will look to avenge their shocking loss at Lambeau Field three weeks ago at the hands of the Lions. Tonight's game marks the fourth in 19 days for the Packers and their fourth straight in the NFC North. Lose this, and there's an excellent chance that even a win against the Vikings in Week 17 will not be enough to get them a divisional title.
