More coaching changes appear in the offing for the Green Bay Packers. According to ESPN's Jake Trotter, the team has hired Oklahoma assistant coach Jerry Montgomery to the staff.

The 35-year-old Montgomery has coached the Sooners' defensive line since 2013. He recently accepted a promotion to co-defensive coordinator following the team's 40-6 loss in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Montgomery was considered a rising star in Norman, especially as a recruiter. He leaves the team with a recruiting class that includes a trio of defensive linemen rated among the top 300 nationally. Prior to Oklahoma, Montgomery held the position of defensive line coach for Wyoming and Northern Iowa.

It's unclear at this time what role Montgomery will have with Green Bay, but he's the second assistant coach the team has reportedly hired since Monday. The other, former San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach Mike Solari, is expected to work underneath James Campen. Likewise, Montgomery could assist defensive line coach Mike Trgovac.
