Packers mock draft: Cornerback and linebacker options at pick No. 30

Three different players are mentioned as options for Green Bay in the latest SB Nation mock draft.

The 2015 NFL Draft is less than a month away. Accordingly, Acme Packing Company's draft coverage is ramping up, with our three-round mock draft beginning this week. We also have the biggest version of SB Nation draft expert Dan Kadar's first-round mock, which includes multiple options for the Green Bay Packers and every other team at their respective picks.

Once again, Kadar feels the Packers' top option is LSU cornerback Jalen Collins. Collin's virtues have been well documented in these parts; he's a tall, athletic corner that could develop into a reliable press man down the line. He's also inexperienced, something that will scare away some teams earlier in the first round.

But Kadar also gives Green Bay other options, both of which address the team's other big need on defense. The first is Washington's Shaq Thompson, the versatile, rangy linebacker that could line up next to Sam Barrington in the Packers' base defense. The other is Miami's Denzel Perryman, the hard-nosed but undersized linebacker who should improve any team's run defense. Both players would be given the chance to carve out a major role in Green Bay as rookies.

Here's what Dan said about the Packers' options at pick 30:

30. Green Bay Packers: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU

Every year we see middle linebackers fall in the draft, so does a talent evaluator like Ted Thompson really see value in one in the first round? If not, cornerback could be the direction he turns. It's a valuable position and Collins is someone with a lot of potential.

Options: Shaq Thompson (LB), Denzel Perryman (LB)
