With the Green Bay Packers drafting UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, there didn't appear to be much room for tryout Blake Sims. Now it appears that Green Bay will not add the former Alabama signal caller to the 90-man roster, according to Bill Huber of Packer Report.
Sims spent four years at Alabama before finally earning the starting job as a redshirt senior in 2014. He helped push the Crimson Tide into the inaugural college football playoff where it lost to the eventual champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Sims finished the year with 252 completions (64.5 percent completion) on 391 attempts for 3,487 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Sims, who also took reps at running back during his brief stint with the Packers, reportedly has another tryout with Washington later this week. That tryout will also see Sims work out as a running back.
