The Green Bay Packers begin their mandatory minicamp today, and with it comes essentially a continuation of the team's Organized Team Activities. There's still no hitting and no pads allowed, and the team has almost 100% attendance at OTAs, so there won't be much difference there.
The big change (and the word "big" is probably a stretch) is that practices will start at 10:30 local time instead of 11:30. So if you're heading out to practice today, make sure to get going a little early, as the team will be taking the field sixty minutes earlier than their other practices so far this spring.
A handful of veterans sat out last week's OTA practice, however, and their attendance (or lack thereof) at practice will likely be a storyline to monitor. Sam Shields, Julius Peppers, Mike Neal, Nick Perry, and Casey Hayward all were either absent or not practicing last week. It's a sure bet that they'll all be in attendance, but whether or not they will practice will be worth keeping an eye on.
If they can't go, young players like Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins, Adrian Hubbard, and Jayrone Elliott would likely get the first-team reps in their place.
Enjoy today's practice, and Go Pack Go!
