Stuck in the middle of the NFL calendar's dead period, national writers often use this time of the year to produce their rankings and other assorted lists. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco is no exception. Wednesday, he released his Top 100 players article, a list that includes six members of the Green Bay Packers.
There aren't many surprises in Prisco's list as far as the Packers are concerned. Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers narrowly misses the No. 1 spot, but Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is a totally defensible choice. Josh Sitton, completely overlooked on similar lists by other publications, receives his due at No. 57. Overall, the Green Bay players chosen make sense.
As for other NFC North teams, the Chicago Bears received three nominations including offseason addition Pernell McPhee. Three Detroit Lions made the cut counting new defensive tackle Haloti Ngata. The Minnesota Vikings also came away with three players on the Top 100.
Here's the full list of Packers named to Prisco's Top 100:
2. QB Aaron Rodgers
29. WR Jordy Nelson
54. LB Clay Matthews
57. G Josh Sitton
68. WR Randall Cobb
85. RB Eddie Lacy
