The NFL Network wasn't content to announce just one member of the Green Bay Packers to their Top 100 players list this week. All-Pro outside linebacker Clay Matthews followed Eddie Lacy as the second Packer named to the 2015 edition of the list Wednesday, coming in at No. 51.
At one point during the past season, it appeared that Matthews' impact was on the decline. He registered just one sack through the first six games of 2014 and was overshadowed by teammates Julius Peppers and Mike Daniels. However, after a post-bye week adjustment that saw Matthews play more downs inside, the All-Pro returned to form, producing 8.5 sacks from Week 10 on. He finished the season with 61 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
Matthews' versatility allowed the Packers to take a more cautious approach to the inside linebacker position. He expects to continue shifting between the middle and the edge during the upcoming season depending on down and situation.
Matthews is the fourth member of the Packers to make the 2015 NFL Top 100. Green Bay has two other players -- Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson -- that appeared on the list last year.
