This week, the National Football League begins its preseason games for the 2015 season. The league opened up the season on Sunday with the Hall of Fame Game (in which the Vikings defeated the Steelers by a score of 14-3), but most other teams will begin their game action thus Thursday.
The Green Bay Packers are one such team, as they open up their preseason in the Northeast Thursday night. Luckily for Packers fans outside the state of Wisconsin, the game will be nationally broadcast, so you can watch the game from the comfort of your own home...or at least a local establishment that has a full cable or satellite package.
As always, the first preseason game is one for player evaluation, so we expect the star players on both sides of the ball to play no more than a series or two. That should mean a nice long look at the Packers' three backup quarterbacks: Scott Tolzien, Brett Hundley, and Matt Blanchard.
With injuries robbing several defensive players of practice time this week, we will be closely watching to see which players participate in the game. Veterans Mike Daniels, Letroy Guion, and Nick Perry did not practice during open sessions on Monday or Tuesday, while first-round draft pick Damarious Randall also sat out on Tuesday. Click here for a full list of all the players who are banged up coming into tonight's game.
