Packers head coach Mike McCarthy spoke with reporters today as his team prepares for it's third preseason game. Below are highlights from his press conference.
On wide receiver Jared Abbrederis:
He's getting better, the medical staff feels he's taking more steps. What he's doing in the course of rehab is just another example of where he's at in the protocol.
On losing Jordy Nelson's production:
I think it's important for everybody to stay focused on what we need to do. Every player on offense has a distinct role, we'll stay the course in developing and staying the game plan towards that. We're not going to ask any of our offensive players to replace Jordy Nelson. That's not the plan.
We'll practice today, we have things to get done today.
On offensive lineman J.C. Tretter:
J.C.'s a young man that can play multiple positions. He's playing well at center, but yes, he'll be prepared to player guard or tackle.
On the young wide receivers working for playing time:
I think the first vehicle is special teams. It's a not a wide open spot because Jordy's not available, these young guys have got to do good on special teams.
On Ty Montgomery:
Ty's got the ability to play inside and outside. No doubt about it. It's important to get him reps there.
