Eagles vs. Packers, Preseason Week 3 score updates

Join APC as we discuss the Packers' third preseason game.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

This evening, the Green Bay Packers open up their home preseason schedule as the Philadelphia Eagles come to Lambeau Field for the teams' third preseason game.

With three starters out on the offensive line (David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton, and T.J. Lang), indications are that starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play tonight. When adding that to the concussion suffered by backup Scott Tolzien, the Packers will have just two quarterbacks expected to take all the snaps tonight: rookie fifth-round pick Brett Hundley and journeyman Matt Blanchard.

On defense, Packers fans will hope to see Clay Matthews in uniform tonight to get some reps in game action. Matthews has missed the first two preseason games with a couple of different nagging issues, but was practicing throughout this week.

The Eagles, on the other hand, are expected to play their starters for much of the game, possibly into the third quarter. That should give the Packers plenty of good reps to evaluate their young quarterbacks and other young players against high-level competition.
