This afternoon, the Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Bears in the opening game of the two teams' 2015 seasons.
Approximately 90 minutes before kickoff, the two NFC North rivals released their inactive lists, cutting down the 53-man roster to the 46 players active for today's game.
The Packers will be without starting safety Morgan Burnett, who missed practiced this week with a knee injury. Micah Hyde will start in his place opposite of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. This change gives the Packers a few options in nickel formation. Casey Hayward could move to the slot with either Damarious Randall or Quinten Rollins playing outside.
Rookie tight end Kennard Backman is also inactive, meaning the Packers will only roll with Richard Rodgers and Andrew Quarless.
For the Bears, wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey is good to go after missing time this week because of a calf injury. Chicago's top three receivers (Jeffrey, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson) are all active.
