Packers vs. Seahawks halftime update: Green Bay leads 13-3

New, comments

Keep discussing the first game of the year as the second half gets underway.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Ankle injuries haven't been the kindest to the Green Bay Packers through the first two quarters.

Running back Eddie Lacy, receiver Davante Adams and defensive linemen Josh Boyd all sustained injuries in the first half. Lacy checked out early in the first quarter after a run, while Adams left the game after making a 13-yard reception. Lacy and Adams are both questionable to return, while Boyd is done for the night.

Outside of the injuries, the Packers have played pretty good thus far. Green Bay leads Seattle 13-3 and have played well on both sides of the ball.

The Packers held Marshawn Lynch to just 29 yards on 12 carries and have done a great job eliminating cut-back lanes. Quarterback Russell Wilson has only completed 6-of-10 passes for 62 yards.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 14-of-20 and passed for 151 yards with a touchdown in the half. Rodgers' touchdown was a 29-yarder to receiver James Jones who beat cornerback Richard Sherman.

The Packers nearly took a 14-point lead after Rodgers found Jones on the left end zone sideline, but further review determined that a part of Jones' body touched out of bounds before the catch. A great play in coverage from Bobby Wagner on 3rd-and-goal forced the Packers to settle for a field goal.

As always, keep following along with the game and commenting, as this will be your game thread for the second half.
