The Green Bay Packers entered into the 2015 NFL regular season ranked No. 2 in SB Nation's weekly power rankings index. After two wins, including a convincing victory over the reigning NFC champion Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay has only firmed up its grasp on the upper reaches of the list. Heading into Week 3, the team remains in the same spot, behind only the New England Patriots.
Right now, the top tier of the NFL appears to be some combination of the Packers, Patriots, Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals. Unsurprisingly, those four teams occupy the top four spots in SB Nation's Week 3 power rankings. Though other considerations factor in, Green Bay could jump into the top spot should they defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. The Chiefs currently rank No. 5 on the list.
As for the rest of the NFC North, the Minnesota Vikings have climbed up into the top half of the league, landing at No. 13. As for the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, they continue to share space with the NFL's dregs, ranking No. 23 and 31 respectively.
Here's what SB Nation's power rankings curator Danny Kelly wrote about the Packers:
The Packers impressed as well, knocking off the Seattle Seahawks at home for a little slice of revenge for the botched NFC Championship last January. Aaron Rodgers managed to shake off three previous rough outings in Seattle and put together a masterful 10-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter -- which ended up being the game-winner -- to help the Pack improve to 2-0. There will be no need for Rodgers to tell his fanbase to R-E-L-A-X this September.
