Tonight the Green Bay Packers host the New Orleans Saints to conclude it's 2015 preseason. The Packers are coming off two straight defeats, including a 39-26 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this past Saturday. Although preseason records are meaningless from a record standpoint, this evening's game is valuable as the final chance for some players on the team to earn a spot on the Packers' 53-man roster or practice squad.
Aaron Rodgers did not play against the Eagles, so there certainly shouldn't be any expectation for him to play at all in tonight's matchup. Rodgers doesn't play in preseason finales, so expect rookie Brett Hundley to make the start for the second straight game or split time with backup Scott Tolzien. Quarterback Matt Blanchard was one of the team's roster cuts this week, making Tolzien and Hundley the only options the Packers have at quarterback.
Besides Rodgers, also expect running back Eddie Lacy, linebacker Clay Matthews and most of the starters on the offensive line to sit. If first-stringers play much of anything, it will probably be sparingly.
