The Green Bay Packers now have its roster set to 53 players. The Packers announced the release of 20 players this afternoon, a group which included 2014 draft picks Carl Bradford and Khyri Thornton. Running backs John Crockett and Rajion Neal were also among the players released today.
As a reminder: Datone Jones and Letroy Guion will start the season under suspension, so the Packers needed to reduce the roster by 20 players today - those two are on the Reserve/Suspended list to start the year, so they do not count against the 53-man limit. Check out the full 53-man roster here.
As reports have come out regarding the fate of most men throughout the day, four new players were added this afternoon:
DB Tay Glover-Wright
RB John Crockett
LB Jermauria Rasco (waived injured)
WR Larry Pinkard (waived injured)
Here are the other players the Packers let go of::
DB Jean Fanor
DB Ryan White
OL Matt Rotheram
TE Justin Perillo
OL Andy Phillips
RB Rajion Neal
TE Mitchell Henry
OL Garth Gerhart
LB Joe Thomas
OL Jeremy Vujnovich
LB Carl Bradford
LB James Vaughters
DL Khyri Thornton
WR Ed Williams
DL Christian Ringo
WR Jared Abbrederis
Tomorrow, the Packers will start to build their 10-man practice squad for the upcoming season, so some of the players cut today could be added to that list, as well as players from other teams.
Monday begins their preparation for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.
