At one point during the week, the Green Bay Packers feared they might have to take on the Dallas Cowboys without either of their primary running backs. While James Starks will sit out Sunday's game, Eddie Lacy's ankle injury progressed well enough to assume the lead-back role.
Because Lacy enters the game at less than 100 percent and the Packers have only Aaron Ripkowski in reserve, expect to see wideouts Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery spend some time working out of the backfield. Both receivers have experience at running back, with Montgomery seeing most of his offensive snaps there this season.
On defense, Green Bay already knew top cornerback Sam Shields would miss his fourth consecutive game with a concussion. However, the unit received some good news in the form of Damarious Randall's activation. Randall missed last week's game against the New York Giants with a groin injury.
