Packers power rankings, Week 5: Green Bay holds steady while NFL world moves

The Packers didn't move in SB Nation's power rankings, but they did in some others.

The Green Bay Packers did not play a game this past week, which on the surface suggests that nothing should change about their position in the power rankings. With nearly the rest of the NFL participating in Week 4, the chance existed that a few impressive or disappointing performances by other squads could have bumped the Packers up or down. Ultimately that did not turn out to be the case, as Green Bay remains the No. 9 team in SB Nation's weekly power rankings.

Though the Packers didn't take the field this week, the rest of their division did. The Minnesota Vikings looked as impressive as any team in the entire conference, which explains how they moved up a spot to No. 2, trailing only the defending-champion Denver Broncos. At the other end of the spectrum, the Detroit Lions fell two places to No. 29 after their loss to the Chicago Bears, who now find themselves ranked 28th.

Based on the power rankings, Green Bay looks to have another win on its hands. The New York Giants dropped down five places to the 18th spot following their loss on Monday Night Football.

Though the Packers didn't change positions in SB Nation's power rankings, they did move in some others. CBS Sports moved them up one spot to No. 3 while NFL.com dropped them a slot to No. 5. ESPN didn't move them at all, leaving them at No. 6.
