As we do each week here at Acme Packing Company, each of the contributors has put together his picks for the week five games across the NFL. The Green Bay Packers get the Sunday night game this week, hosting the New York Giants.
This week, APC’s contributors are overwhelmingly confident in the Packers’ ability to win on an NBC-televised game for the first time since early last season. They have lost five straight when Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth call the game, a stretch dating back to last season’s loss in Denver. The last Packers win on Sunday Night Football was in week two a year ago, when they defeated the Seattle Seahawks 27-17. Still, Mike McCarthy’s team is scheduled to get at least one more chance this season, when they have a rematch of last year’s Wild Card playoff game in Washington.
Meanwhile, APC also feels that the Minnesota Vikings will improve to 5-0 on the season with a win over the Houston Texans. Minnesota gets that game at home, and despite Houston’s 3-1 record they are playing without J.J. Watt. As such, all but two contributors have the Vikings as their pick in that game.
