Today in the NFL, there are two significant games that will be likely to draw the attention of casual fans. Each of these are Super Bowl rematches - one rekindling a long-dormant rivalry and the other bringing back memories of just two years ago.
The first of these two contests comes up this afternoon, as the Cowboys and Steelers square off. The two teams have met three times on the NFL’s biggest stage: Super Bowls X, XIII, and XXX. Pittsburgh won the first two of those contests - both played in the Orange Bowl - while Dallas got some revenge in the 1990s with their win following the 1995 season.
The Sunday Night game features a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, as the Patriots host the Seattle Seahawks. New England won that Super Bowl 28-24 with some last-minute heroics from their defense, particularly Malcolm Butler’s interception at the goal line.
Here’s the full NFL schedule for today, and be sure to check out 506 Sports for your local broadcast maps for the early games.
