Packers-Colts Week 9 Injury Report: Rollins questionable, but Montgomery should play

It is a rare sight when the Green Bay Packers’ opponents have a longer injury report than the Packers do, but that is the case this week for their upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Packers have four players listed as out and another four designated Questionable for Sunday’s game, but the Colts have five individuals with each designation as of Friday’s injury report.

For the Packers, the good news is that a pair of starters - running back/receiver Ty Montgomery and guard T.J. Lang - were given no injury status, and are therefore all but assured to be available on Sunday. Montgomery’s status likely means that the team has addressed the issues related to his diagnosis with sickle-cell trait, and therefore he is ready to go. Lang’s hip has kept him limited or out of some practices recently, but it is not concerning enough to hold him out of game action.

Meanwhile, the Packers will still hope to have one of their two questionable cornerbacks available. Both Demetri Goodson and Quinten Rollins landed with that designation; Goodson is working through the concussion protocol while Rollins is trying to return from his groin injury.

The usual suspects are listed as out - namely, Jared Cook, James Starks, and Damarious Randall. Joining them on that list is starting center JC Tretter, but Corey Linsley is expected to be reactivated from the PUP list in time for Sunday’s game and he will take over for Tretter.

For Indy, there are a number of players who were held out of practices on Wednesday or Thursday this week for rest, but who are not injured. Those who are include a pair of starters on the defense as well as a key interior offensive linemen. Meanwhile, they also have some key players listed as questionable - most notable is cornerback Vontae Davis, but he was a full participant in Friday’s practice after working through the concussion protocol.
