The running back carousel in Green Bay continues. After Knile Davis' release last week, the Packers carried just Don Jackson, Ty Montgomery, and an injured James Starks on the active roster at the position. According to a report on Saturday morning, however, the Packers are apparently planning on adding a new name to the mix next week in advance of their week 10 game at Tennessee.
That name is a familiar one to Packers fans from his time in Detroit: Joique Bell.
Help is on the way for the #Packers injury-riddled RB unit. I’m told FA RB Joique Bell is expected to sign with GB on Monday.

Bell spent some time earlier this season with the Chicago Bears, so after he signs with the Packers he will just need one more stamp on his NFC North passport to get the full set.
This off-season, APC's Paul Noonan examined Bell at length prior to the start of free agency. In that analysis, Paul advocated for the signing of Bell as a cheaper option compared to Matt Forte, who had been connected to the Packers in some rumors.
Bell is a capable receiver and pass blocker, which makes him an ideal fit in the Packers' offense. Today's game may give us some idea as to the Packers' plans for the position, as Ty Montgomery is expected to play. He will likely suit up as the team's primary running back today, but it seems that the presence of a veteran back is something that the team values moving forward.
UPDATE: According to a couple of the Packers’ beat writers, Bell is coming in for a workout on Monday, but he is not necessarily a lock to sign a contract. Keep an eye on this situation as the day goes along.
