On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers began their on-field preparations for their Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears. Following Wednesday’s practice, the team listed a whopping fourteen players on their injury report. Thankfully, only four players were held out of practice entirely, with one sitting as a rest day and another rehabbing an injury but still expected to play on Sunday.
That rested player is Julius Peppers, who has been sitting out on Wednesdays each of the last few weeks. As Peppers has taken a bigger portion of snaps with Nick Perry’s injury, the coaching staff appears to feel that he needs days off in the middle of the week.
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers is rehabilitating his injured calf this week, and head coach Mike McCarthy indicated that he will not practice until Saturday.
One of the strange items from the injury report is Clay Matthews’ status. Although he is listed on the report with his shoulder injury, no status was given for his practice availability on Wednesday. Stay tuned to find out more later this week on what is going on with Matthews.
Here’s the full Wednesday report.
