Almost exactly a month separates us from the start of the 2016 NFL Draft. That places extra pressure on those who forecast the event like SB Nation's resident draftnik, Dan Kadar.
In an attempt to make things more interesting, Kadar included trades in his latest mock draft. While the Packers remain at their original pick, this strategy provides us a slightly better idea of how the live draft could look next month.
Like previous mocks, Kadar has the Packers addressing their defensive line. This time, however, they select Mississippi State's Chris Jones.
You may remember Jones from the combine, where his 40-yard dash ended in a NSFW wardrobe malfunction. However, Jones is a legitimate prospect, with a towering 6-foot-6 stature, long arms and playmaking ability. He enjoyed a strong 2015 campaign, registering 44 tackles, 7 1/2 tackles for loss and 2 1/2 sacks.
Kadar shares his thoughts about the Packers' selection of Jones:
27. Green Bay Packers: Chris Jones, DT, Mississippi State
If he's coached up the right way, Jones has the potential to be a superstar. He was miscast too much at Mississippi State as a nose tackle, and often faced double teams. For a 3-4 defense like Green Bay's, he has the length needed to excel as an end.
