31 years ago today, a couple in Kansas had a child. We don't know how big that child was at the time, and there was no way for the parents to know just what would happen to him in his first 31 years of life.
Since his birth, this man has spent eight years of his life as an NFL player for the Green Bay Packers, adding to four years spent at Kansas State University. In three of those years in Green Bay, he recorded over 1,000 receiving yards, and he has made one Pro Bowl.
So with all of that lead-up in mind, we wish Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson a very happy 31st birthday today and hope that his knees have more luck this year than they did the year after he turned 30.
We second the well wishes put out by the Packers' social media team:
Nelson has two more years left on his contract with the Packers, but his age makes him one of the older "#1" wideouts in the NFL, as our Jason B. Hirschhorn noted earlier today:
#Packers WR Jordy Nelson turns 31 today. He's 4th oldest No. 1 wideout in NFL (Brandon Marshall, 32; Larry Fitzgerald, 32; Steve Smith, 37).— Jason B. Hirschhorn (@by_JBH) May 31, 2016
Here's hoping for several more great years for Jordy in green and gold!
