A.J. Hawk refuses to take Colin Cowherd’s bait on Aaron Rodgers

Good for the former Packer linebacker for sticking up for his friend and former teammate.

On Wednesday, former Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk was a guest on Colin Cowherd’s FOX Sports show The Herd, and addressed a variety of topics. However, one topic that Cowherd felt the need to discuss was Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

For some reason, Cowherd has been critical of Rodgers' intangibles recently, questioning his attitude and leadership in particular. In the interview with Hawk, he seemed like he was trying to bait Hawk into saying something negative about the quarterback, who counts Hawk as a close friend after the two played together in Green Bay for nine seasons.

Cowherd referenced comments made in the past by some of the receivers who have left Green Bay, and asked Hawk if he agreed with those comments and the feeling that Rodgers “can be moody, he can be temperamental, he can be a little condescending, he’s got a little rockstar to him.”

Hawk responded magnificently:

“That’s every one of us depending on the day ... I’ll stand up for him all day long ... he is the ultimate leader.

“I don’t know why they would say that ... first I’d like to see what they said, see if it was taken out of context, because you’re in the media and stuff can get taken out of context.”
