Packers’ Trevor Davis impresses with one-handed catch in practice

Green Bay’s rookie receiver made one of the standout plays of the team’s first practice of the summer.

The Green Bay Packers have their work cut out for them in deciding which of the team’s numerous talented but underdeveloped wide receivers to keep on the roster in 2016. There are seven realistic candidates for roster spots, and while it is still possible that the team may keep all of them, it is hardly a guarantee.

One of the players in the mix is rookie fifth-round pick Trevor Davis, who was picked in large part for his 4.4 speed. However, Davis also has shown good hands, and he did so during the Packers’ first training camp practice of the year on Monday morning. Check out a video of this great catch below:

If young Mr. Davis keeps making catches like that, you can bet that Aaron Rodgers’ trust in him will grow by leaps and bounds - though it will of course still be critical for him to continue to develop his route-running and understanding of the offense. A statement like that on day one of camp is certainly a good omen for Davis, however.
