On Sunday starting at 12:15 PM, the Green Bay Packers take the field once again for an open practice as they continue on with the next week of training camp and begin preparations for their second preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.
They will do so without the services of wide receiver Jeff Janis, however. The third-year pro reportedly broke a bone in his hand during practice last week, which accounted for his absence from Friday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. With Janis out, the Packers’ other young receivers should get additional reps with the first-team offense and will have a leg up on the battles for the #3 and #4 receiver jobs, as well as some roster spots.
The Packers have a pair of open practices this week, on Sunday and Monday. They will then have a day without practice before their walkthrough on Wednesday and the game against Oakland on Thursday.
We will follow along with practice here and join us in the comments section as well.
