With the preseason now officially underway, the Green Bay Packers are on an in-season practice schedule, and Monday marks the second of two open practices for the team this week. They worked out at Ray Nitschke Field on Sunday and will do so again today as they get ready for Thursday’s preseason game with the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field.
The team saw a number of players return to action on Sunday after skipping Friday’s game - among them were Clay Matthews, Randall Cobb, and Brett Hundley. Hundley’s return was especially positive, as he missed the past week and a half with an ankle injury. He took most of the snaps with the starting offense on Sunday as well, while Aaron Rodgers led the scout team for most of practice.
On Monday, the Packers should also get receiver Ty Montgomery back, as he was given Sunday off to rest after returning from the PUP list just a week ago. Meanwhile, Morgan Burnett missed practice with a back issue, so his status will be worth monitoring.
