After a 17-11 victory over the Cleveland Browns last Friday, the Green Bay Packers will resume their preseason schedule this week with a home game against an organization with many ties to the Packers in recent years. However, although the Oakland Raiders still employ former Packers executive Reggie McKenzie as the team’s General Manager, they no longer have any former Green Bay players on their roster.
Contrast that to last year’s meeting, when Charles Woodson still roamed the secondary for the Raiders, his third year there since departing Green Bay after the 2012 season. Woodson retired in the offseason, however, and the Oakland defense now is led by third-year defensive end Khalil Mack.
With Aaron Rodgers unlikely to play, Brett Hundley should get the bulk of the playing time now that he has returned from his ankle injury. Meanwhile, the Packers continue to wait on the return of Jordy Nelson, who remains on the PUP list.
