Somehow, the Green Bay Packers only have four more open practices in training camp, meaning that fans have just four more opportunities to see the team work out at Ray Nitschke Field this summer. The team will practice on Monday and Tuesday both this week and next before bringing the summer’s camp to a close.
Today, however, will be fans’ first chance to see wide receiver Jordy Nelson in action since last year’s second preseason game in Pittsburgh. It was on the Heinz Field turf that Nelson tore his ACL, but he is off the PUP list and expected to be back on the field for the Packers when they begin practice at 12:15 this afternoon.
Nelson’s return should be the big story from practice, but for the 50 or so players fighting for roster spots, another day of work is another opportunity to show their worth. Can young players like Kentrell Brice, Kyle Murphy, and Josh Hawkins continue to build on solid preseason performances? Tune in here to find out.
