Packers vs. 49ers Preseason 2016: Game time, TV channels, online streaming, & more

Aaron Rodgers will suit up in this week’s game - here’s how to tune in to watch him tune up for the regular season.

NFL: Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

This week, the Green Bay Packers make their first true road trip of the year, heading West for their third preseason game of 2016. Their trip to the Bay Area will be the farthest they will have to travel in the entire 2016 preseason or regular season, and it is the only game that will be held farther West than Kansas City (where they will play their final preseason contest).

This week’s game should be the only one in August in which Packers fans will get to see the team’s starters - including Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, and others - playing for any significant amount of time.

The Packers’ opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, enter fresh off a 5-11 season that saw head coach Carl Brutananadilewski - err, pardon me, Jim Tomsula - get fired. San Francisco replaced him with Chip Kelly, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles and Oregon Ducks.

A portion of this week’s game will be shown on national television, so you will be able to tune in midway through the second quarter and watch through the end of the contest. It will also be replayed the following day, but will be available to fans in the Packers’ local area as usual and for streaming on a couple of different options. Here are all the details you need to get tuned in.
