Packers Training Camp 2016: Practice updates and news for 8/29

The Packers’ penultimate training camp practice kicks off around midday on Monday.

The Green Bay Packers have just two more full practices remaining in their 2016 training camp, and the first of those begins at 12:15 PM this afternoon from Ray Nitschke Field. Ted Thompson’s roster will need to reach 75 players by 3 PM local time tomorrow afternoon, so we will be scouring practice reports for any clue as to players who are absent and therefore potentially no longer part of the team.

For those who remain, however, the focus is to get ready for Thursday’s preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay is working on a short week, with just six days between their final two games, and will practice today and tomorrow before having their walkthrough and flight to Missouri on Wednesday.

Another key item to watch in practice today will be the continued integration of Jordy Nelson into more and more periods in practice. He worked routes with his quarterbacks on Monday last week before doing one-on-one drills against a cornerback Tuesday. Will today be the day that he starts participating in some team drills or will that have to wait for later this week or next? Tune in below to find out.
