The Green Bay Packers have just two more practices before they fly to northeast Ohio to participate in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game, and only one of those two practices is open to the public. That session is Thursday evening, as the team heads back out onto Ray Nitschke Field once again for a 6:15 PM start.
One of the biggest questions of today’s practice will be the availability of quarterback Brett Hundley. Aaron Rodgers’ backup sat out Wednesday’s practice after being “nicked up” (head coach Mike McCarthy’s description). With Hundley likely to see most of the workload under center on Sunday if healthy, his availability today will be telling for the Packers’ plans at quarterback in the game.
Hundley was not the only player missing on Wednesday, however, as several starters were sitting out. Linebacker Jake Ryan, right tackle Bryan Bulaga, and defensive lineman Mike Daniels all sat for various reasons. Some of these absences were not significant, however - Bulaga was just given an off day for rest, while Daniels was excused for personal reasons. Rookie offensive lineman Kyle Murphy also was out with a concussion, which certainly puts his availability in question for Sunday.
Keep an eye on who’s participating tonight in the practice thread, and let us know what you think of tonight’s work in the comments.
