Just a short time before the Hall of Fame Game between the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts was supposed to start, an announcement has been made that will leave fans in Canton, Ohio looking for something new to do on this Sunday evening.
Just about an hour before the game’s scheduled kickoff time, the NFL announced that the game will be canceled due to poor field conditions:

This move is a bit shocking, if only because of the timing. The field conditions in last year’s Hall of Fame Game between the Steelers and Vikings were awful as well, and likely contributed to a serious injury suffered by Pittsburgh kicker Shaun Suisham.
The Packers were unlikely to play many (if any) of their starters in tonight’s game, but this decision ensures that there will be no players put in harm’s way this evening.
Stay tuned to APC as we follow along with the news coming out of Canton this evening.
