Packers Training Camp 2016: Practice updates and news for August 9th

The Packers finally return to the field this evening after a few days off and a cancelled preseason game.

On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers finally return to the field for practice and their first on-field work since a closed practice on Saturday. In addition, this marks the first open practice that the team is holding since last week Thursday, and it is just one of two sessions open to the public this week. The team will work in front of the fans again on Wednesday before holding a closed walkthrough on Thursday. The team then will finally make its preseason debut on Friday night at Lambeau Field against the Cleveland Browns.

Starting at 6:15 PM Central tonight, we will follow along with practice once again to see what events of note take place. One important item will be the availability of backup quarterback Brett Hundley, who sat out a few practices last week and was going to miss the Hall of Fame Game that was cancelled on Sunday night. We also continue to hope for the return of the players on the Physically Unable to Perform list, including Jordy Nelson.

Who will be the standout players of this evening’s practice? And who will be ready to go when the Packers finally get to take real reps against another NFL opponent on Friday? Follow along with tonight’s practice below to find out some of those answers.
