It’s almost opening night for U.S. Bank Stadium. The Minnesota Vikings’ new home is ready for its first regular-season NFL game, and the Green Bay Packers are coming to the Twin Cities in the hopes of ruining the party.
This weekend’s game is a prime time affair, in part because of the premiere of the new building but also because both teams made the playoffs last season. In fact, the two played on Sunday Night in week 17 of last season as well, when the Vikings were able to leave Lambeau Field with both a victory and an NFC North title.
Is revenge on the Packers’ minds? That’s probably not the right word to use, with both teams looking to start the season at 2-0 and take a de facto 1.5-game lead on the other.
