On Tuesday afternoon, Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater tore his ACL and dislocated his knee in practice. On Saturday, the Vikings found their replacement.
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Minnesota will acquire quarterback Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Vikings have to give up their first round pick next season as well as a fourth round pick according to the reported terms of the trade.
Without Bridgewater, Minnesota had been down to just two signal callers: journeyman veteran Shaun Hill and undrafted rookie Joel Stave from Wisconsin. Bradford my not start immediately, but will surely be integrated into the offense as quickly as possible to get him in the lineup.
The Eagles drafted Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in this year's draft, so getting anything in exchange for Bradford is probably a win. Chase Daniel will likely be the Eagles' starting quarterback this season as Wentz takes time to develop under head coach Doug Pederson.
