After 39 minutes of football in the NFC Championship Game, the Green Bay Packers trail the Atlanta Falcons by the score of 24-0.
Everything that could go wrong for the Packers did go wrong in the first half. The defense has looked like a sieve for 30 minutes, and the offense squandered two solid drives early on with a missed field goal by Mason Crosby and a fumble by Aaron Ripkowski.
The Packers also had three great chances for turnovers, but squandered them all. Jake Ryan fell on a fumbled snap but couldn't gain control of it, and Marwin Evans misjudged a deep ball by Matt Ryan that could have been an interception. LaDarius Gunter also had a chance at a pick in the end zone a few plays after Evans' play but couldn't haul it in. Instead the Falcons scored on both of those drives, taking a halftime lead of 24-0.
